Artful Pin Swap Guidelines
The art pins can be made with any media and techniques that you choose as long as it fits in a pin category


  1. collage
  2. mixed media
  3. fabric and fibers and beads
  4. embroidery
  5. felt
  6. clay
  7. painted wood
  8. plastic
  9. metal
  10. altered imagery and photos
  11. green material (all kinds)
  12. found objects
  13. poly shrink
  14. printed and decoupaged art photos
  15. paper all kinds
  16. dominoes
  17. puzzle pieces
  18. scrabble pieces
  19. objects from nature
  20. glass
  21. resin
Anything else you can think of to create your pins..If there is enough interest to continue at the end of the exchange ,we will decide on one technique and medium that we will all do together. Example. Make a pin out of all “Green “ The exchange will be three months so that everyone has their pins exchanged. This will also give all the artists plenty of time to create their pins with everyone's busy schedule. . Along with sharing in on the exchange, I am also hoping that we will share our techniques, what we learn from experimenting and post videos or photos of their creative process . But this is an option not a requirement. is no requirement.

My Process in Creating Eco Jewelry

    Eco Jewelry by Joy Hellman I save my plastic in bins in my studio basement and paint it as I go sometimes with just paint that I have left over from painting projects in my classes I am ready to do a project I use either a blow dryer or a heat-gun depending on what I want to do and what kind of plastic I am using. They all change in unique ways and create different effects.. I have experimented to discover how the plastic transforms and now even though I am open to the unexpected and there are always those in the creative process, I now work with it with purpose and a method that have improved upon in time. Plastic is a wonderful material for artists to use and I am just one among many who working with plastic as a resource in their work. After the  piece is finished I use a variety of found objects sometimes entrapping them in the melted plastic and other times glued. Plastic is Beautiful

.
